"To know Jesus and make Him known."

Maranatha was founded in 1982 and is part of the Assembly of God fellowship.  The Assemblies of God USA and World is one of the largest Pentecostal Fellowships. We are a protestant Christian fellowship that believes in one God in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that eternal salvation can only come through a saving knowledge of and relationship with Jesus Christ. For more information on the Assemblies of God beliefs and doctrines, click here.

Maranatha sounds strange to our ears, but it did not sound strange to the ears of Christians in the early church.  Aramaic was the speaking language of Jews in Israel in Jesus' day.  Maranatha comes from two Aramaic words - marana tha - which means "Come, Lord" or "Lord, come!"  It was a greeting that Christians would say to each other.  The Bible actually has this word.  It is found in 1 Corinthians 16:22.

May we all look forward to Christ's Coming!
In the meantime, let Christ in you shine in the lives of those around you.
